December 2008

2008 has been such a amazing year for me.  So much transformation has taken place and my gratitude goes out to all the people who have helped me in realizing my purpose her on this plane.

Last night, with stars aligned in such a way, visions of the future where best to come into the mind set.  Throughout the day, I looked deep inside and asked myself  what it was I wanted for 2009.  Intentions where set for the new year.  Every day I am learning that the mind truly helps to create all that happens in our life, weather that be what seems to be a positive or negative experience.

I look forward to the new year and creating even more ever impressive connections with the world!

After reading a blog of my favorite artist, I thought I would put together my top ten list of 2008.  There is so much to add but I thought I would put down a few. What an amazing week!!  My time here in Dallas has been anything but dull.  Over the last few days, I have been hopping around the city and meeting lots of people along the way.  Dinner in Denton, Potluck and demo last night and a beautiful 6hr workshop today for close to 30 people.  With the help of Susie, Jessica, and the staff at Tsada Yoga, the workshop went off without a hitch.  I was blessed to have out of town guest, Penni(Tulsa, OK) and Bunny Berry(South Carolina).  Through the course of the day, I brought guests thru a day in the raw from breakfast to lunch.  Green smoothies, chocolate drinks, and mushroom cakes were topped off by a rich and creamy orangy-chocolate pudding pie.  Bad timing for me, but today was also the Dallas marathon and the course went right past my bedroom window.  If only I paid better attention, I would have run the marathon and then taught the class, or at least switch the class to Saturday!!

Tomorrow, I head off to Austin, which I am extremely excited about.  I’ll be sure to hit up the Daily Juice  for lunch.  Unfortunetly  it is not the time of the year for Austin City Limits, but I will make due.  Now I am just a few days away to my big Victorian debut!!

For all you folks looking for raw food events in the Dallas area, please be sure to tune into Meetup.com.

It is hard to describe the feelings I have after spending nearly 2 weeks in Hawaii.  Based on the Big Island, I experienced so much in the short time I was there.  I got a true sense of what PaRAWdise really is.  To be able to walk out your door and pick fresh, ripe, organic fruit, is an experience to be had by all.

There is so much to see and do while in Hawaii, but a lot of my time was simply spent being and enjoying the surrounding that I was in.  The first week I was there, gave me a great opportunity to connect with new friends while facilitating the Raw Games at the Kalani resort.  Here we merged raw foods, sports, and community  in a heartfelt space where all people could participate and compete.  Events like the 40yard dash, strong man/women, triathlon, volleyball and more  gave people a chance to push themselves.

Once the event came to an end, I was able to spend more time with friends and explore the Island.  Daily rain kept us from spending too much time on the black sand beaches, but it didn’t keep us away too long.  I got a real sense of community and enjoyed meeting locals.  On route a car, Sara and I hitchhiked  our way to the rental place.  We where picked up about 4 times along the way and got a different taste for the people who lived on the island.  Great experience!!

There is so much I could say but I will some up my trip report by recommending that everybody get down to Hawaii at some point in their life.  Climb a tree or find one on the ground and enjoy a fresh coconut.  It may just change your life!!

One event that I was able to organize, was the raw food prep-off.  Ten teams of 2, had 1 hour to create an entree and dessert.  All teams where given the same basket of ingredients and an extra table held tools, equiptment, and a few added ingredients to share.  The event was a total hoot and it was great to see what people could come up with in such a short amount of time.  The winning dish  is pictured above.
