hi frank congrats in a great race…how do i get to the green umbrella web.. can you give me the full web site.. if doesn’t link from your blog… thanks amy
Dear Frank,
I can hardly believe my good fortune to have wandered in here! I began with “catch A Healthy Habit”, got to Meetup, Duck Pond, and at last, to you!
I’m thrilled beyond words to know that it’s not only possible but desirable to combine a 100% raw food lifestyle with long distance running! Yippee!
I’ve been a serious runner for over 20 years, about as long as I’ve known my ex-husband, the first raw foodist I ever met. Though I’ve never doubted that it is the correct way to live/eat, I’ve numerous reasons/excuses for eating a rather junky diet, my last being running; “I need to eat pizza the night before a long run, the salt retains water and lack of fiber keeps me from having to pull over behind a tree”; “I can’t run a marathon without coffee and a muffin 2 hrs. before the race”; “I need those oatmeal and pasta dinners in the days before the marathon”; this must sound ultra ridiculous to you; it certainly does to me, I can’t believe these are my words!!!
I’m trying very hard to change, gradually, I’m in for NY (marathon) 11/2; I keep saying it will be my last marathon and then there’s nothing to stop me from getting to 100% raw. Now, after reading all about you, I’m thinking that maybe being raw will make more marathons possible!!!! I’m almost 52 and have been feeling as though my body can’t take much more of long distances. Maybe it’s not all over…
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I’d love to hear you speak, do you give talks?
Congratulations on your 100 miler!!!!
What an accomplishment, what a wonderful life you’re living!
By the way, my 17 year old son is 100% raw (like his dad), I wish I could get him to run
Sorry to ramble, Frank!
Goodnight,
Ellen

hi frank.
my husband and i really love the mushroom ragout and the fettucini alfredo from the gianni show.
we have made it twice already since then!
well, we have alot of celeriac and shrooms at the moment.
in fact, we went mushroom foraging with some friends of ours in the north georgia mountains this weekend (they call it “vegan fishin’” ) which was theeee most satisfying dayhike! – and then i made the ragout with these gorgeous shrooms last night…. and now it is almost kitchenprep time, – they’re hollering as i writecha! – so here we go…
thanks so much. it’s brilliant.
it turned them onto raw quite nicely, too.
we want to get a copy of your uncook book, and will be contacting you thru whatever the other email is.
cheers.

not as raw as you. Thought you might know a thing or two about farro. I’m curious. Trying to make something for the holiday. seems all farro has dried up in branford. does foodworks carry it? And can you recommend a bible on whole grains –cooking /pictures / nutrition? have a nice trip!
My husband and I just had the yummy Mushroom Ragut and Fettuccini Alfredo from your visit with Kevin and Annmarie. It was AMAZING only thing I have a lot of sauce leftover. How long will it keep?
Also I would love to buy your Receipe Book could you send me an address to send a check.
Thank you so much for sharing this receipe Jo Anne

It’s Monique and Roxie here… wondering how you’re doing??? Just kidding… I hope you’re well. I’m sorry i haven’t called you back but I’ve thinking of you and hoping you’re enjoying life out west. I’ll give you a buzz soon. Cooch, Sally and I are all great. We’re heading to Mexico in a couple of weeks for a little vacation!! Very exciting! In the mean time there’s lots of beautiful snow and we’re enjoying winter very much. I’m hangin’ with Rebe and enjoying her company while she’s home. I’ll talk to you soon. Lots of love and blessings.
